Before you read this post, do me a big favor. Close your eyes and picture yourself sitting on a spaceship, but not just any ordinary spaceship-- the Millennium Falcon. Okay, now do me another favor, while you have your eyes closed and imagined yourself on the Millennium Falcon, picture Han Solo controlling the ship to your left while trying to break away from multiple TIE fighter jets; to your right is Chewbacca being, well -- Chewbacca. And sitting behind you is R2-D2, who is completely calm while C3PO is having a mental breakdown.
Do me one more favor, and I promise you this is the last thing. Place a Philly Cheesesteak in between your hands, eat it, and enjoy the exhilaration of the Millennium Falcon traveling at 25,000 light-years per day. Pretty intense stuff, right?
I'm not saying that eating at this restaurant felt exactly like the visualization I described, but it came close to it.
Cheesesteak Rebellion is a restaurant that primarily focuses its attention on its food the well-known "Philly Cheesesteak." I was surprised to hear about a restaurant that served traditional Philly Cheesesteaks in Green Bay, and the best part, it's a Star Wars-themed restaurant! So I knew I had to try it and see what the hype was all about.
When you first step into the restaurant, you're greeted by a Millennium Falcon poster where the nose of the ship guides you to the dining room. While you're waiting to be seated, there's a life-sized Darth Vader and Stormtrooper standing on each side of the door to the lady's restroom; I thought it was a bit bizarre, but maybe that's how the owners wanted it. I was shocked to see an open kitchen since it can be considered a fire hazard it seemed to work out, though.
The embellishments of the restaurant consisted of nothing but Star Wars decorations: a laminated Princess Leah poster on the lady's restroom door, a Chewbacca poster on the men's restroom door, and a variety of plush toys, collectibles, canvases, and posters covering every inch of the restaurant. It was creative but distinct; the owners of this restaurant had a vision, knew what they wanted, and put it to life.
But enough about decorations, let's talk food.

If you've never had a Philly Cheesesteak before, now is the time to do so. While I won't say that the restaurant's cheesesteak tastes similar to the one back in Philadelphia, it cuts close. The Rebel Whiz, which is what I had, comes loaded with a brined thinly sliced ribeye that's seared on a flat top griddle, which is the only proper way to cook it; green bell peppers, sliced yellow onions, and the best part, WHIZ. And if you don't know what whiz is, it's luscious American cheese that's been melted. In other words, it's the foundation and foremost needed ingredient to complete the cheesesteak. Let's also not forget the toasted hoagie roll that comes with it too.
Taking the first bite is all it takes for you to fall in love with a Philly Cheesesteak. Your taste buds are suddenly introduced to an array of simple yet, mind-blowing flavors. The saltiness from the ribeye presents itself in the beginning, then there's a pleasant taste from the sliced onions and green bell peppers, but the cheese whiz is what brings it all together.

On top of that, Cheesesteak Rebellion was featuring their Sweet Potato fries. However, the fries come pre-cut in a freezer bag and are thrown straight into the deep fryer. I prefer the traditional stack of fries where a whole potato is sliced, blanched, and cooked to order on the same day. But I will say that the sweet potato fries made an amazing addition to my meal. The best part was I ordered a side of cheese whiz to dip my fries in--the best decision I've ever made.
Eating cheesesteak on a buttered toasted hoagie roll and sitting in a Star Wars-themed restaurant, what could get better than that?
I enjoyed every moment of my time at the Cheesesteak Rebellion. From the moment I stepped into the building and left: I was happy. Friends, if you're a big fan of Star Wars, follow it occasionally, or aren't aware of its existence and just want to enjoy a nice dinner. Then I would recommend putting this restaurant on your list. Your mouth will drool on its own, and you'll eat until your stomach feels like it's going to explode, but your soul will be thanking you in the end.
And as Darth Vader has said, "The force is strong with this one."
Cheesesteak Rebellion will be seeing more of me.
